The Binance VIP Holder Program is an alternative pathway to VIP status designed for users who maintain large asset balances rather than executing high trading volumes. Following the March 2026 update, the Holder Program was significantly expanded — now covering eligible VIP levels all the way up to VIP 9.
What Is the Holder Program?
Traditionally, Binance VIP status was primarily earned through trading volume. The Holder Program broadens this by recognizing that long-term holders and investors contribute meaningfully to the Binance ecosystem even without constant trading activity. By maintaining sufficient assets on the platform, holders can unlock the same fee discounts and services as active traders.
Holder Program Eligibility (2026)
To qualify under the Holder Program, users must maintain a qualifying asset balance averaged over 30 days, plus a minimum BNB holding. Assets counted include Spot balances, Margin, Futures, Binance Earn, BNB holdings, and Alpha account assets:
- VIP Rising Star: $30,000 average net assets + 5 BNB
- VIP 1: $500,000 average assets + 5 BNB
- VIP 2: $1,500,000 average assets + 25 BNB
- VIP 3: $3,000,000 average assets + 100 BNB
- VIP 4: $6,000,000 average assets + 200 BNB
- VIP 5–9: Expanded under the 2026 update — contact the Binance VIP team for current thresholds
What Assets Count Toward the Holder Program?
Binance has expanded the definition of qualifying assets in 2026. In addition to spot and futures balances, the following now count toward Holder Program calculations:
- Binance Simple Earn (Flexible and Locked products)
- Binance Dual Investment holdings
- BNB holdings across all Binance products
- Alpha account asset balances
- Margin account collateral
This expanded definition gives holders greater flexibility to allocate assets across products and strategies while maintaining their highest qualifying VIP tier.
The 2026 Holder Program expansion is Binance's recognition that long-term asset commitment — not just trading activity — creates meaningful value for the platform's liquidity and stability.
Holder Program vs Trader VIP: Key Differences
The Holder Program produces the same VIP tier and benefits as the Trader path — the same fee discounts, API limits, and support services apply. The primary difference is qualification method. Holders don't need to actively trade, making this path ideal for institutional investors, family offices, and long-term crypto holders who want VIP fee benefits on the occasional trades they do execute.
Maintaining Holder Program Status
Holder Program status is evaluated daily by Binance's automated system based on the 30-day trailing average balance. Maintaining consistent asset levels is key — large withdrawals that drop your average below the threshold can result in tier downgrade at the next evaluation. The system uses the average over 30 days, so short-term dips are less impactful than sustained balance reductions.
